Mernie has been painting stage sets for Bay Area theaters since 1989. She won an Ellie (Northern California Theater) award in '93 for Big River, and an Artie award for Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She was the lead scenic artist at Woodminster Amphitheater in Oakland from 99-03 and currently paints sets for the Willows Theater.
